Holly is a licensed social worker who is been in the social services field since 2003. She began her career by volunteering in a retirement community assisting with meals and companionship with the residents until she was able to be employed at that retirement community as an activity aide. Following that she spent several years employed as a support staff in groups for individuals with developmental disabilities. Once she completed her bachelor’s degree, Holly worked as a youth behavioral specialist in residential treatment facility for juveniles with problematic sexual behaviors and other various problematic criminal behaviors. She completed multiple master level’s internships at domestic violence shelters, longer term housing units, and at a drug and alcohol hospital. In 2013 she began providing psychotherapy in Delaware prison system for adults who committed sexual offenses. Holly facilitated group therapy, individual therapy, completed sexual risk assessments, and worked collaboratively with probation and parole services. Following that she provided the same services in an outpatient community based therapists. In 2018 she transitioned to providing psychotherapy at a medical clinic before transitioning to Avers & Biddle in 2019. Also in 2018 Holly began supervising visits and providing reunification therapy for non-custodial parents and their children. She enjoys seeing a diverse population but particularly enjoys utilizing her specialized trauma training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) protocol. She holds the following credentials:
- Obtained bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Millersville University in 2010
- Obtained masters of Social Work (MSW) from Millersville University in 2013
- Became trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing in 2016
In addition to her education and specialized trauma training she has completed trainings that have focused on diversity training, trauma informed care, mindfulness-based relapse, effects of domestic violence on children, effective communication in legal proceedings, domestic violence, trauma, & mental health, and collaborative law. Lastly, Holly is in pursuit of her clinical licensure (LCSW) and is projected to complete that in 2021.
