Emily is a licensed social worker who has been in the human services field since 2014. She began her career working in programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and mental health issues and then became a program supervisor, overseeing the day-to-day operations of community rehabilitation programs. She has also worked as a certified investigator investigating allegations of abuse and neglect for those with developmental disabilities, autism, and mental health issues. During her internships for her Masters in Social Work she interned and later worked part time as a drug and alcohol counselor providing group therapy to clients. For her final internship she interned as a hospice social worker where she provided grief and loss counseling to clients and their families. She worked as a psychotherapist for adolescent teens dealing with trauma, self-harm, and suicidal and homicidal ideations. She provided individual counseling and family counseling to the teens. She assisted them with gaining emotional regulation skills, positive coping skills, self-regulation skills, and working through the effects of trauma. Most recently Emily, has been working as a clinical program director for a mental health program in which she is responsible for the operations and clinical direction of the program. She holds the following credentials:
- Obtained associates of arts in Human Services Management from University of Phoenix in 2011
- Obtained bachelors of Science in Human Services Management from University of Phoenix in 2014
- Obtained masters in social work from Widener University in 2020
- Has a license to practice social work in the state of Pennsylvania
In addition to her education, she has participated in numerous trainings that have focused on various treatment orientations, mindfulness, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, treating trauma, Energy Psychology, suicide prevention, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and extensive trainings in working with and supporting individuals with IDD, autism, and mental health diagnosis.
