Shayla is a licensed social worker who has been in the human services field since 2016. She has experience providing treatment in personal care and transitional care homes assisting adults to learn how to maintain their mental health independently. She has also provided services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault for the violence intervention and prevention program at the YWCA. For the past three years, Shayla has focused on mastering her clinical skills in the area of outpatient mental health counseling. Shayla works with young adults, adults, and individuals in relationships. She has experience working with clients who have endured trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, relational conflict, anxiety, depression, and mood and dissociative disorders. Her therapeutic style is grounded in collaborating with clients while assisting them to develop insight and make changes in order to meet their goals and needs. She incorporates clients’ strengths throughout treatment, including personal characteristics, passions, and or hobbies. - Obtained bachelor of arts in psychology, with a concentration in mental health, from Southern New Hampshire University in 2016

In addition to her education and licensing, Shayla is passionate about growing as a clinician through continuing her education. She has participated in trainings to expand her knowledge on various aspects of treatment such as cognitive behavior therapy, attachment based family therapy, trauma related disorders, suicidal prevention, cultural diversity, and effective communication in relationships.
